LCMA has been teaching karate in Mansfield and the surrounding towns since 1980. Classes began at the Robinson Elementary, then the old American Legion, onto Crocker Street, and finally in 2003, having outgrew the space we moved to our current location at 397 Oakland Street.

Excel Studios began in 2003 in South Norwood after leaving LCMA. In 2008 the school was relocated to Canton and added grappling and fitness programs. In 2014, this location joined with the Mansfield & Norwood LCMA under the direction of Cody Robyn and John Hagman.

Excel has been teaching karate in Norwood since the early 80s. Beginning in Civic Center, later at the First Congregational Church, then to South Norwood. In 2016, Excel Martial Arts moved its regular programs to the Norwood Civic Center to support its already successful programs through the Norwood Recreation.
